Dieter's Log: Day 59 - Stupid Scale!?!

Today's weigh in:
Me: -1.0 lbs, totaling 21.8 lbs...a little bummed
Derek: -3.0 lbs, totaling 32.4 lbs...amazing, isn't he?! Good thing he's my hubby, or I'd have to do something drastic!

Work has seemed to be a bit overwhelming lately. My boss, Lisa, got picked to be part of a jury for the murder trial that's going on here in DL. It started on the 17th or 18th, so I don't have anyone at work with me. She is an owner, but also works front desk and watches over housekeeping. So I'm working more hours and stressing out more, cuz people are idiots?! We are in the process of remodeling our breakfast room and our restaurant. So I'm making lots of decisions that I would normally have her help with. I'm managing, I guess.

My computer died on me on Saturday night, Kevin thinks it's the power supply?! hopefully that's all, he said it's possible it could have fried the whole thing, but we'll see. So my only means of internet are at work, which sucks!

April and Kevin came to DL yesterday and they look incredible. they've lost 20lbs, and 15lbs, consecutively. Great job, you two!! Keep it up!

We are making our final plans for Vegas...only 13 days til we leave DL and 14 days til we'll be in VEGAS!!! I'm so excited. You have NO idea!!!!!!

Dieter's Log: Day 52 - Still Losin'...Slowly, But Surely

Just a quick update cuz I'm at work:

I lost another 2.0lbs this week, bringing my total to 20.8lbs in 52 days! I finally hit the 20lb mark! I'm very excited!!!
Derek lost another 2.4lbs, bringing his total to 29.4lbs! So close to 30lbs!!

I am feeling much better lately and I'm really proud of myself for sticking with it. I think back to those first 2-3 days and how I just wanted to give up, but now it's like normal. There are some days I can go without my morning or evening snack, just because I'm not hungry. And the exercising, I'll admit, is still a pain in the ass, cuz the fitness center seems to get busier and busier everyday. I can now do the elliptical for a full 45 minutes, when in week 1 or 2 I tried it and I couldn't even do 5-10 minutes before dying and having to get off. I've done the elliptical for about 5 days in a row now and everyday I increase the level. So I am definitely more toned.

That's it for now, gotta get back to work.

Only 22 more days til Vegas Baby!!!!

Dieter's Log: Day 45 & My Week in Nut Shell

So we weighed in AGAIN! This week was a little tough. I only lost 1.0lbs...I know, I know...it's still a loss and not a gain, but I can't help but feel a bit sad about it. Derek on the other hand, is still doing good. He lost another 3.6lbs...he's a freakin' fat smashing machine...his total is now 27lbs. WOW!!

So my week in a nutshell:

Thursday, March 6th - Derek's birthday, but we spent it traveling to Fargo to get Laurie and Dale. We ate at the Pita Pit and it's now my new favorite place to eat. We didn't get back until after 8pm and still went to work out after that. What a way to spend your birthday!?

Friday, March 7th - We worked and then worked out, then we had supper at Laurie's for Derek's birthday. She made chinese food-sweet and sour chicken and beef and veggies, all with brown rice of course. We shared a small piece of cake and a scoop of low fat ice cream, which was sooo goood! Because I was suppose to work the weekend at 6:30am but was now off because of the funeral, I had to go back to work from 9:30pm-closing, which ended up not happening until 2am. So I opened Friday morning at 6:30am and closed at 2:00am Saturday...what a long ass day!

Saturday, March 8th - We headed to Thief River Falls at 10am and got there around 3pm. The funeral sucked, of course, but it was good to see everyone else. Lots of tears were shed. And then there was the food....you know that everyone goes to funeral for the food, not the people! They had the church ladies cook food and they made spaghetti, and tuna noodle hot dish, and macaroni hot dish, and lasagna, and mac and cheese, and not to mention the dessert bars, and dessert bars, and dessert bars! OMG!!! But I made Derek say no and we chose to sit and watch everyone else eat, and then we had to tell them all about our new diet. Most of them were very impressed and could see that we were skinnier, which is cool. I was smart and brought healthy snacks, so we ate those after we were done at the church. When we got back to the hotel, we even worked out in the hotel fitness room, which just proved to everyone how dedicated we were. Not to mention that the "fitness room" was just a bike and treadmill in the pool area with glass walls, so they could all see us being gross and sweaty.

Sunday, March 9th - We drove back home to DL and I tried to recoop some of my weekend.

Monday and Tuesday - I worked from 6:30am - 5:00pm and it sucked, but what are ya gonna do?

So I'm still kinda boring and really tired this week so far. I can't wait for Friday! So I can do NOTHING!!! Well, maybe I should do laundry and dishes....we'll see!

Dieter's Log: Day 38 - And Not So Good News

Our new weigh in numbers:
Tab - Lost this week: 2.2lbs - Total loss to date: 17.8lbs
Derek - Lost this week: 3.0lbs - Total loss to date: 23.4lbs
Yeah for us!! We even cheated a little bit over the last week. On Saturday we went to see Semi-Pro, which was pretty good. Not as funny as I thought it would be, but still likable. But we had POPCORN!!!! No butter, no salt...at least no extra. We just shared a small popcorn and had a small diet coke. This was the first pop we've had since starting this diet. We can have it, but I just don't know if I can do diet pop?! Sunday was my sister Wendy's birthday and we went to The Ranch. Derek and I shared a 12oz sirloin steak and each had a side salad instead of ordering potatoes and veggies. But I had a bite of Wendy's chicken fettuccine alfredo and two bites of her apple turnover dessert. Plus I'm PMS-ing this week...and I still lost 2.2lbs! Very Nice!

And the Not So Good News:
Derek's Aunt Joni who found out that she had cancer in her jaw in December, died today. :-(
She had gone thru all the surgery to have it removed, all the chemo treatments, and all the radiation treatments and was finished last week. She was sent home from the hospital in Rochester on Friday afternoon. She was staying at her daughter's house and she was having trouble breathing so they were getting her ready to go to the ER when she collapsed and they had to call an ambulance. She was in the Fargo hospital since then and things looked a bit better on Monday, but then took a turn downhill. Turns out her white blood count was extremely low. Normal is 4.0-12.0 and for radiation patients they expect it to go down to 1.0. When Joni got to the hospital her level was 0.1, so they gave her some blood and by Tuesday she was at 0.3. But she was having such trouble breathing that they hooked her up to a ventilator to help her. But she was still having problems breathing with the ventilator so they sedated her so the machine could do the work. Then Tuesday her kidneys shut down. So most of Derek's family went to Fargo and we watched over Ali. They hooked Joni up to dialysis and it was set up for 24 hour running because it would be less stressful on her body than the normal 3 times a week runs. Everything was stable but then they took her off of the sedation meds and she didn't wake up. She was completely unresponsive. They did a brain wave scan and some other tests this morning and all came back with no activity...she had some sort of brain damage, they weren't able to determine what the cause was. It could have been anything from the cancer to the stress of the machines to a heart attack or stroke. So they kept her going until her other sister could get there from Williston tonight. They finally took her off everything at 6:35pm and by 6:37pm she was gone.....So that's that. I figured it'd be easier to explain it on here than to lots of different people at different times. The funeral is on Saturday around 3pm in Thief River Falls. Tomorrow I have to drive to Fargo to pick up Laurie, Dale, and Ashley. It's a good thing I was scheduled to have Wed and Thurs off this week. I was suppose to work the weekend, but now I'll need to see about getting out of that.
So this is for all my friends and family who I do or don't talk to enough: I think about you all everyday and hope everything is going well. I want you to know that I love you and if I don't say it enough I'm sorry. We all need to live each day like it's our last, because you never know what might happen. One day you can be just fine and....well, you know. I love each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart!
P.S.-Happy early Birthday to my hubby, since I won't be on here tomorrow! Love you the Mostest!!!
